In February, 2007 Heritage School acquired thirty-nine acres on Smokehouse Road as the site of the school's permanent home. The Master Site Plan for the campus was developed in 2005 by Mesa Design Group and Perkins and Will, an internationally recognized architectural firm specializing in school design.
Designed to be built in phases as the school grows, the goal for the campus is to provide facilities that support Heritage School's mission, distinctive curriculum and delivery of enriched programs. The Board engaged Mustard Design of Fredericksburg as the primary architect and Huser Construction Company to oversee Phase I of the school's design and construction.
When complete, the plan includes academic buildings for Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric, a gymnasium, a music and fine arts building, an administration building, play grounds, athletic fields, courtyards, a chapel, and gardens.
The Master Site Plan reflects the school's educational philosophy in an environment that honors God in its good stewardship and which incorporates the elements of discovery, joy of learning, nature study, and integration of building with nature.
